energy-efficient ICI cancellation technique for bandwidth improvements through cyclic prefix reuse in an OFDM Article

Sandeep SAROWA, Harmanjeet SINGH, Sunil AGRAWAL, B. S. SOHI

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2017, Volume 18, Issue 11,   Pages 1892-1899 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1601333

Abstract: Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), a very promising technique that is leading the evolutionbandwidth scarcity issue in spectrum allocation, is severely affected by the undesirable effects of the frequencyerror, which generates inter carrier interference (ICI) due to the Doppler shift and local oscillator frequencyUnlike SC and MLE where the whole OFDM symbol data is transmitted in duplicate to create redundancy at

A Multi-wavelength Star Optical Network Reusing All Channel Wavelengths Three Times and Its Features

Gan Chaoqin

Strategic Study of CAE 2002, Volume 4, Issue 10,   Pages 84-89

Abstract:

In this paper, a novel multi-wavelength star optical network reusing all channel wavelengths three times is proposed by the method of “(Distributed Architecture) + (Return Link) + (Wavelength Group)”. In this scheme, by interconnecting four conventional star couplers and reusing all channel wavelengths three times, both the maximum number of supportable nodes and the maximum throughput of the network are all up to four times as many as that of conventional WDM star network. Utilizing bidirectional transmissions in a single fiber, half fibers can be saved under the same number of supportable nodes. Making use of the distributed architecture, the anti-destructibility of network is drastically raised. All these advantages of the network efficiently overcome the disadvantages of conventional WDM star network.

A novel method for PAPR reduction of the OFDM signal using nonlinear scaling and FM Regular Article

Yi-hu Xu, Jung-Yeol Oh, Zhen-hao Sun, Myoung-Seob Lim,xuyh@ybu.edu.cn,mslim@jbnu.ac.kr

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2019, Volume 20, Issue 11,   Pages 1587-1594 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1800438

Abstract: (OFDM) has been adopted as standard beginning with the 4 generation mobile communication system becauseof its high-bit-rate transmission capability under frequency selective fading channel conditions. However, a major disadvantage of OFDM is the non-constant envelope signal with a high (PAPR).The high peak signal in OFDM is distorted through a nonlinear amplifier, which causes bit error ratioThe time slot location and scaling ratio for where and how the high peak baseband OFDM signal is downscaled

SUSTAINABLE PLANT PEST MANAGEMENT THROUGH OPTIMIZATION AND MINIMIZATION

Plant Production and Protection Division (NSP), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering 2022, Volume 9, Issue 1,   Pages 161-166 doi: 10.15302/J-FASE-2021426

Abstract:

Plant pests and diseases have significant negative impacts on global food security, world trade and rural livelihoods. Climate change exacerbates these impacts in certain parts of the world. Overreliance on pesticides as the primary tool for plant pest management leads to problems such as pesticide resistance and pest resurgence. Environmental and food safety concerns are also associated with overuse of pesticides in crop production. There is clearly a need for a shift in pest management strategies and practices globally. Optimization of structures and functions in crop production agroecosystems through soil conservation practices and cropping diversification can improve pest regulation services provided in the systems. Prioritization of safer alternatives and practices in the IPM pyramid, such as resistant varieties and biopesticides, helps minimize the use of potentially risky agricultural inputs such as synthetic pesticides. Investment is needed to boost the development of innovative green technologies and practices. Production, distribution, use and regulatory capacities need to be strengthened to facilitate large-scale adoption of green technologies and practices. Finally, policy, financial and market instruments should be wielded to provide an enabling environment for the transformation to sustainable plant pest and disease management strategies and practices worldwide.
